Small Business Institute on Procurement Makes Big Impact
With over 40 attendees, the first Small Business Insitute was deemed an overwhelming success. The main presenter, Lloyd Atkins, a procurement specialist and consultant for the Small Business Development Center, held the attendees captive with his expertise and humor. At lunch Chuck Hunsaker with the Department of Economic Development, Govenor's Defense Initiative, Larry Blige, governemtn contracting counselor with Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center and Bill Boone, also with Small Business Development Center, shared additional information and experiences and allowed for Q&A throughout lunch. Afterwards, attendees were able to visit representatives from local governement agencies, at the local, state and federal levels.
Special thanks to our sponsors: CItizens State Bank, Walmart Foundation, W.H. Gross, Coastal Oaks Home Inspections, Subway of Woodbine and of course our partners Debbie Graham at Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and June Fischer at Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE).
