| Leadership Camden Applications & Scholarships Now Available!
Leadership Camden 2008-09 applications & scholarships are now available for download. The program will kick-off August 1, 2008, during a 2-day retreat held at Cabin Bluff. The class will fill up quickly, so fill out your application and send it back soon. Scholarships are available to Chamber members.

Warning counterfeit $100.00 bills circulating in Camden County
The bills received so far:
- Have marked yellow with counterfeit pens on front and back of bill
- Have had fibers
- Have had the strip
- Have had the watermark feature
- BUT: the watermark feature is just the outline of the face and has NO eyes
- Paper feels soft like copy paper
- Serial numbers are not teal in colored but a darker blue
- Back of bills has purple tint, especially in the trees
- The bills have been the EXACT size of normal bills
- Another feature on legitimate bills is something called "color shifting ink". It is used on the numerical representation of the bill's denomination. It is located on the lower right corner of the face of the bill. The ink is one color when viewed straight on (holding the bill at each end). If you turn the bill slowly (so that the face of the bill points to the ceiling) the ink appears to change colors. That particular feature is VERY hard to duplicate and is something you can check in about 10 seconds.
The bills look GOOD for being fake, but once you turn them over you can really tell.

BUSINESS ALERT!
The Camden County School System and the Camden County Chamber of Commerce encourage you to CHECK before you write a check for a fundraising activity by calling the CCHS to verify you are supporting a legitimate fund raising project. Recently, local businesses have given funds to professional companies that indicate they are raising funds for CCHS Athletic and Academic Programs.
Unfortunately, these companies are NOT working with or approved by CCHS. Local businesses are led to believe they are helping our students, but all the funds are actually going to the company conducting the fund raising drive. One of the companies in question is Elite Designs. So please before you write a CHECK always CHECK with the CCHS. Call 729-7042 for all your fund raising questions or information.
