Privett & Associates, Inc., located in historic St. Marys, Georgia, the East Coast homeport of the Trident submarines at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, was incorporated August 1982 to provide land survey and other related services in Georgia and Florida. Our staff includes personnel who have a wealth of experience in surveying for design and construction gained during the peak Kings Bay SUBASE buildup. During this period (1983-89), we provided the majority of surveying and staking for approximately one million dollars-a-day construction that totaled in excess of 1.2 billion dollars at completion. Since the opening of our Georgia office, construction of the submarine base has quadrupled the population in Camden County, Georgia, to more than 45,000 and impacted the growth of adjacent counties. Privett & Associates is experienced in all areas of conventional and automated surveying and mapping, including the use of data collectors such as MAPTEC-MC5 and HP48GX (TDS Software) Ranger PC Recon and Topcon Husky, utilizing instrumentation including Pentax, Topcon, Leica, Astech and Trimble. We have conducted numerous surveys ranging from several miles for route surveys to several thousand acres for boundary, topographical, wetland jurisdictional surveys, which utilized GPS for horizontal control and collectors to gather field data. We also offer services in control, cadastral, route, as-built, reconnaissance, photogrammetric, architectural and subdivision surveys. Our resulting maps are produced electronically using AutoCad and Softdesk Version 14.0, Land Development Desktop 2002 and 2006. As the ever expanding field of surveying encompasses environmental matters, we focus attention on sensitive issues such as wetlands, endangered plants, endangered animals and their respective habitats. Our work also includes surveying for landfills, hazardous and/or contaminated monitoring and cleanup projects. The firm services a wide range of clients in the private and public sector. Our public-sector clients include the U.S. Navy, Florida Department of Corrections, the City of St. Mary?s, the U. S. Postal Service, the City of Kingsland, and others. On the private-sector side, a sampling of clients includes Sawyer & Associates, Terra Pointe (formerly Rayland Company), Marsh Harbour Development Company, Soncel, Inc., Rayonier, Inc., and The Howard Gilman Foundation (formerly Gilman Paper Company). Privett-Bennett & Associates has a comprehensive knowledge of government codes and laws relating to permit application and acceptable construction methods. We have participated in numerous residential and commercial projects in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida. We have provided services for zoning, design surveys, design plans for construction, construction layout, construction administration and as-built surveys for various projects such as Kings Bay Shoreline Stabilation, Fort Stewart Route Survey, Kings Bay Limited Access Gate, RaceTrac Gas/Convenience Store, Taco Bell Restaurant, Branch Post Office, Country Inn and Suites, South Georgia Business Park, and the residential projects- Cottages at Camden Apartments, Osprey Cove, North Hampton and Cumberland Harbour.
