    Job Description
    Child Care Support Staff provides for the day to day care, nurturing, supervision, and development of the youth assigned. The Methodist Home for Children and Youth is seeking self-motivated, energetic professionals to mentor and nurture youth and adolescents of the St. Marys Campus. Our boys (age 12 - 18) attend public schools and participate in community activities under Child Care Workers' supervision.     We are hiring for the following shifts (times are approximate and my change slightly):

    FT Weekend - Overnight (benefit eligible)
    Wednesday 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
    Thursday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
    Fri, Sat, Sun 10:00 pm – 8:30 am


    FT Afternoon / Weekend shift:
    Wed 12:30 pm – 10:30 pm
    Thu, Fri 1:30 pm – 10:30 pm
    Sat or Sun 8:30 am – 8:30 pm (sometimes ending at 9:30 pm)


    PT Weekend shift:
    Fri 6 hours, starting as early as 2 pm
    Sat - Sun (each) 10-13 hours, starting 8:30 am


    PRN (flexible) - as needed: 2 – up to 40 hours/week
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
    Supervision / Safety: Your major responsibility is to provide supervision of our residents at all times in accordance with policies and procedures. You will be responsible to establish and maintain an environment that promotes the safety of the residents in your care day and night.
    Crisis Management: Handle crises in such a way to provide a positive, therapeutic impact on the program.
    Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships.
    Education and/or Work Experience Requirement: 
    Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Human Services related field) or High School Diploma combined with 2 years experience working with children/adolescents in a residential environment
    Knowledge of child care practices, developmental issues, and group processes and practices which are important to this position.

    Payment: $11.00 - $11.68 an hour
